Busan Hires Deputy Director The Busan International Film Festival has hired Pak Dosin, a former senior festival programmer, as co-deputy director.
In a dual-leadership structure, Pak will act as festival director alongside co-deputy director Kang Seung-ah. Today the festival also announced that it has postponed the appointment of its next director.
This year, the event will be conducted under the leadership of chairperson Park Kwang-su, ACFM director Ellen Y. D. Kim, and co-deputy directors Seung-ah and Dosin.
The festival said the decision was made to “allocate resources effectively by reducing the administrative processes and time needed to elect the festival director.” This comes after a tumultuous 2023 for the festival, which saw four managers resign.
