Bee Network bus and Metrolink tram tickets are in for a shake-up from March as Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) bosses confirmed the launch of new ‘multi-modal’ passes.

The new tickets will allow passengers to buy a ticket for both tram and bus travel on a monthly or annual basis. And could cost as little as £2.75 per day.

Passengers will be able to spread the cost of annual multi-modal tickets, which cost at least £1,000, by purchasing it through a Credit Union and making repayments weekly or monthly.

The new passes will be available from March 23 — the same day as the Bee Network’s ‘tap-in, tap out’ system launches. That will allow passengers to scan a bank card or phone on a Metrolink platform or on-board a Bee Network bus, and be charged the lowest fare at the end of the day.
