Bury has closed to every year group amid rising Covid cases. Heaton Park Primary School, in Prestwich, had class closures in Nursery, Reception and Years 4, 5 and 6 last week, so took the 'difficult decision' to close altogether.In a letter to parents, headteacher Paul Lord said: "We have now had several staff members and pupils test positive for coronavirus, and these cases appear to be rising."The children from the year groups with confirmed cases have been told to self-isolate, while the parents of those in Years 1, 2 and 3 are being told to 'keep a close eye on school correspondence' in case of any more positive tests.Mr Lord added: "We have tried hard to keep school open and to minimise disruption, however we feel we have to act now to.
