Burnley are trying to tie Sean Dyche down on a new deal amid rising fears of an approach from Crystal Palace. Eagles' boss Roy Hodgson, 73, is out of contract in the summer and increasingly likely to leave Selhurst Park.
Palace chiefs admire Dyche for his work at Turf Moor since October 2012. A 4-0 romp at Wolves on Sunday has left Burnley nine points clear of the drop zone with five games left and on the threshold of Premier League safety.
Now Clarets chairman Alan Pace aims to persuade Dyche to commit his future to the club. Dyche, 49, is out of contract next summer and would be available for compensation at the end of the season.
