Burnley defender Ameen Al-Dakhil says his side were “unlucky” to come out on the losing side in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United given the chances the hosts had.
Zeki Amdouni had hit the post for the Clarets in the first half before Bruno Fernandes lashed home the winner for the visitors just before half-time.
The goal scorer admitted after the game that Burnley had made United work, with Vincent Kompany’s men finishing with 62 per cent possession.
Centre-back Al-Dakhil said that his team had limited United to counter-attacking chances only and suggested that if Amdouni’s effort had found the net, the game would have had a different complexion.
