One thing you’d think everyone would know is that bakers tend to get up pretty early for work. But this basic knowledge eluded one would-be burglar, when they tried to break into Chorlton delicatessen Barbakan in the middle of the night last week.
The much-loved bakery detailed the hapless attempt, which occurred around 4.30am on January 20, in a post to Facebook. “We really enjoyed watching an idiot carefully and quietly break open our door at 4am with a crowbar, only to sh*t his pants and run at the sight of bakers working in the bakery,” it read. “WE ARE A 24/7 BAKERY!!!!!!!

They heard some banging and they ran to the door, and it had been opened. “We got the CCTV footage, and it showed a man very quietly and carefully spending a lot of time trying to open the door. “He finally creaks it open, sees everyone, and literally darts in the opposite direction. “You’d think he’d been able to hear everyone.
