St Mirren Park. After months of inactivity on the pitch I was desperate to get back to the day job of covering live games. It’s the best part of the week, as a journalist and a football fan, and I was delighted to finally get it back in my life.
But as I queued outside the main stand to get a temperature check, it very quickly reminded me that this game was going ahead despite a deadly virus still circulating in the UK and around the world.
After thankfully passing said check, I was one of the very fortunate few to be allowed into the stadium to see St Mirren take on Livingston in an overdue and most welcome season opener.
