Manchester United and Bruno Fernandes have been told to put off contract talks until the end of the season as John Barnes believes the discussions won't be an "issue".
The 27-year-old has had a difficult season so far this campaign, after his hat-trick on the opening day, as he has failed to match the lofty, and prolific, heights of his first 18 months in England.
But Fernandes has looked back to his best in his last two outings with a brace against Aston Villa before providing two assists against Brentford.
With the Reds heading towards a turning point with a new manager set to take over the helm in the summer, Fernandes' future has been much of the discussion, despite having two years remaining on his deal.
