The 34-year-old lobbed Alphonse Areola from 40 yards to give United the lead against Fulham at Old Trafford, although they were unable to hold on and had to settle for a 1-1 draw against the already-relegated Cottagers.

It was Cavani's ninth goal in 10 games for United and it was a fine way to cement a relationship with the supporters that has been eight months in the making.
