Lewis Turner sampled the big occasion many a time with Bonnyrigg Rose – now he’s out to do the same with Broxburn Athletic. The midfielder was a pivotal player in the Rose’s rise up the pyramid from East of Scotland Football League to League Two.
He also appeared for the Rose in Scottish Cup ties away at Premiership opposition in Hibs – and nearly knocked out then Championship title hopefuls Dundee two years ago.
Following a summer move from Penicuik Athletic to Albyn Park, he’s keen to experience some big moments for the Brox, too. They’re looking to book their place in the Scottish Cup first round draw with a win over Lochee United on Saturday.
And while he’s under no illusions as to the difficulty of the task at hand, Turner says the team can be full of confidence. He said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to play in a few decent Scottish Cup experiences and some big games at Bonnyrigg and I want that here as well. “Hopefully we can go on a decent run with Broxburn, too.
