The brother of the Manchester Arena bomber was stopped by police as he tried to leave the country and questioned under the Terrorism Act - but boarded a flight and left the country the following day.
Ismail Abedi is said to have ‘thwarted’ the wishes of the Manchester Arena public inquiry by leaving the country after being ordered to give evidence.
A lawyer acting for the families of those murdered during the bombing on May 22, 2017, says the eldest Abedi brother has effectively “been able to flee then laugh in the face of the inquiry”.
