While many of us may feel the sexual prime of our lives is our twenties and thirties, new research has revealed that 53 is the age at which most Brits feel the sexiest – with the fifth decade of our lives now considered to be the friskiest.
Following in the footsteps of celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Tess Daly and Gillian Anderson, more and more adults are embracing their sexuality and desires at the age of 53, with around 41% of people over 50, admitting that they feel far more confident and comfortable in their bodies than they did while younger.
This in turn has lead to a whopping 53% of adults over 50 admitting that they now feel friskier than ever and are more likely to pursue this desire, with the same percentage chalking this up to having the benefit of experience and knowing what they want. The research, which was conducted by over-50s dating service Ourtime highlights a changing shift in attitudes when it comes to middle age and beyond, with far more adults keen to shirk off old and inaccurate stereotypes that have often plagued people in later life.
