Britney Spears has revealed in her new memoir The Woman in Me that she had an abortion during her relationship with fellow singer Justin Timberlake.

Explaining the bombshell news, Britney said she "expected" the couple would have a family together one day, but that Justin wasn't happy about the pregnancy and said they "were way too young".

The Hit Me Baby singer penned in an excerpt obtained by People: "It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much.

I always expected us to have a family together one day.This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated." She continued: "But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy.
