Britney Spears’ upcoming new memoir has reportedly been delayed by a paper shortage.The much-anticipated memoir, which is expected to explore the 13-year conservatorship the musician was placed under until last year, is finished but has now been hit by production delays, according to reports.As reported in TMZ, the worldwide supply shortage has impacted publications of many books. The planned release date for Spears’ memoir was initially January, which is when publisher Simon & Schuster hoped to have the book on shelves.Simon & Schuster have yet to confirm an alternate release date. NME has reached out to the publisher for comment.Spears recently shared a video of herself singing an a cappella version of her hit single ‘Baby One More Time’.The video came soon after Britney secured another legal victory, with her father Jamie Spears ordered to give a deposition and answer questions about his alleged misconduct at the helm of the pop star’s now-terminated conservatorship.“I haven’t shared my voice in an extremely long time … maybe too long,” Spears wrote on Instagram alongside the video of her singing the hit 1998 song.The new version of the song featured a number of different lyrics, including in the chorus, when she sings: “Give me a fucking sign.”In the caption to the video, Spears revealed that she has wanted to record a new version of the song for the duration of her conservatorship, but “the team said no.”She added: “I share this because I am aware of my love and passion to sing.

He asked the court, «What would a decent father do?» Jamie's lawyer, Alex Weingarten, called the plea «theatrics» and «attacks,» saying that Jamie cared for his daughter «beautifully.» He said Jamie deserved a chance to question Britney under oath about her public allegations against him. Judge Brenda Penny ultimately decided that any information Jamie needs to defend himself against allegations of conservatorship abuse could be obtained from other sources, including documents and other witnesses.

Britney Spears was recently handed another win in her conservatorship case as a judge ruled Wednesday that Spears will not have to sit for a deposition Spears' attorney, Mathew Rosengart, argued in court that she "feels traumatized by what she went through" and answering questions from her father Jamie Spears' attorney, Alex Weingarten, would "retraumatize" her, per Page Six. Weingarten reportedly plans to appeal the decision.  Jamie Spears will sit for a deposition by Aug.

Britney Spears will not be forced to undergo a grilling by lawyers for her father, who she’s battling over his handling of her 13-year conservatorship, a judge ordered today.Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny ruled that the 40 year-old pop star doesn’t have to submit to a deposition in which Jamie Spears’ attorneys wanted to interrogate her about her accusations that her dad mismanaged her conservatorship, pocketed millions from her and electronically spied on her, even in her bedroom.Deposing Britney ‘is unlikely to provide any discoverable information,' Judge Penny told the court as she denied Jamie’s motion calling for Britney to sit for the dep.‘There exist alternative and less burdensome means to seek information.’Britney has been highly critical of 70 year-old Jamie and other members of the Spears family since her controversial conservatorship was dissolved by Judge Penny last November.As a result, Jamie’s attorney, Alex Weingarten filed the motion calling for the blonde Grammy-winner to be deposed over what he called her ’incendiary allegations of various factual matters' that she’s made, many of them on social media.
