Britney Spears Explains her Body-Shaming Post After Christina Aguilera Unfollows Her Amidst Backlash

Britney Spears is clearing the air after her newest social media post landed her in hot water. After Spears made some strong statements about Aguilera’s body on Instagram yesterday, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer unfollowed her fellow pop star.

In a follow-up post, she called her previous post a “projection” of her “insecurities”. “By no means was I being critical of Christina’s beautiful body, it is what it is !!!

I flew to see her show once and the main thing I noticed was the difference of our people on stage !!!” she wrote. “By no means did I even mention Christina, look at my post !!!

I was inspired by her show and she is a beautiful woman of power … Thank you @xtina for inspiring me !!!” She continued, “To be honest, I’m not trying to be critical of anybody.
