John Le Carré may be known as one of the great authors of British espionage and he saved one of his greatest twists for his own life.
While he served as a British diplomat and as a secret agent for counter-intelligence, M15, before delighting the literary world with works of art such as The Spy Who Came in from the Cold and the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy trilogy, he also gained Irish citizenship before he passed away in December 2020.
