British Independent Film Awards: ‘Kneecap’ Leads Craft Winners

Rich Peppiatt’s buzzy Irish comedy Kneecap has picked up four awards in the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) craft categories, this year’s most wins.

The awards were announced this morning in London ahead of next months official BIFA’s ceremony. Kneecap’s haul included Best Casting, Best Editing, Best Original Music, and Best Music Supervision for Chris Welch and Jeanette Rehnstrom.

The Sundance breakout also leads overall nominations for this year’s British Independent Film Awards with a sweeping 14 nods, including Best Director and Best Film.

Elsewhere, Alex Garland’s Civil War won Best Effects for David Simpson – his second BIFA win after 2022’s Men. The film also scooped Best Sound for Glenn Freemantle, Mary H Ellis, and Howard Bargroff.
