British Gas have introduced a change to how some customers will pay their energy bills. The provider has scrapped giro slips from some of its paper bills, which means customers who don't currently pay with cheques will now be unable to pay for affected bills at the Post Office, bank branch, or Payzone kiosk.

British Gas said it has only removed the giro slips from the bills of customers who do not use this specific payment method for their monthly bills.

For example, if you consistently pay for your bills via direct debit, then you may notice a giro slip missing in any future paper bills.

Customers who do use this specific payment should not be affected by the change and will still have the giro slip each month, the Mirror reports.
