British Gas customers can get half-price electricity over Christmas - but they must act before Sunday. Britain's biggest energy supplier is offering households the chance to slash their bills on Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year by signing up to its PeakSave scheme.
Customers on the scheme can earn credit back on their energy bills by shifting their electricity use to times when there is less demand.
Households who sign up to the scheme before Sunday, December 15, will be able to take advantage of half price electricity between 11am and 4pm for two days over the festive period. Customers also get half-price electricity every Sunday throughout December as part of the PeakSave scheme. British Gas said households can save money on their energy bills by doing more energy-intensive tasks during a session, such as running the washing machine or using the oven.
