Millions of drivers have no idea exactly what their car insurance policy covers - as one in four simply let their other half deal with it.
A study of 2,000 UK motorists found one in 10 are clueless about whether they are covered for driving their car for business use, have windscreen cover or if they can drive other vehicles.
And although 25 per cent leave the detail to their partner, chances are they haven't read the small print. Nearly a third wouldn't know what to do for insurance purposes if they were involved in an accident.
And more than one in 20 have even forgotten who their car insurance is with. Others have just let it renew automatically for so long, they haven't had cause to investigate deeply.
