British Airways has launched a scheme to recruit 200 pilots, training them from scratch with no previous experience necessary.

The Speedbird Pilot Academy will be accepting applications for 2025 later this year - but people who are interested can read up on the requirements first - and see if they are eligible.

British Airways pilots can earn up to £100,000 - with the pay range starting at £55,000 and on average they get £71,000 a year it is understood.

The airline funds the training - often pilots have to pay it for themselves - potentially saving people £100,000 costs. Launched last year and open to applicants annually, the Academy is already training 100 future British Airways pilots who managed to beat off competition from more than 20,000 candidates to have the cost of their tuition paid for by the airline.
