Temperatures across Britain could reach up to 36C over the coming weeks, with a four-week heatwave predicted. Forecasters have predicted that sweltering weather is just around the corner, with parts of the UK being hotter than Cancun by Saturday 9 July.
Brian Gaze, of The Weather Outlook, outlined his predictions, saying: “The mid-30s are expected, but 35C or higher would not be a surprise (this month).
Some forecast models show extreme heat.” The high temperatures could see July 2022 become the hottest month in UK history, beating the 24-hour average of 17.8C from July 2006, where daytime temperatures peaked at 36.2C.
