Judge David Walliams was impressed, saying: "You should be confident Emma – very few of us could ever sing like that." Amanda Holden went on to describe Emma's audition as "one of the most beautiful auditions that [the judges had seen] all day." Emma made it all the way through to the semi-finals, with her performance preceding by a heart-wrenching video where she said, "I live on my own.
I don't like it as such, well, I hate it actually. Growing up I wasn't confident at all. My first audition was so nerve-wracking." She went on to add: "I couldn't believe I got a standing ovation.
I was the best day in my whole, entire life." In the semis she sang Pie Jesu by Sarah Brightman, accompanied by a quartet playing guitars.
