A British skier has tragically died following a collision with another man on a black slope in France. The 65-year-old woman, who was a tourist, lost control of her skis and crashed into the fellow Brit at Les Arcs ski resort.
She is believed to have been descending the steep Aiguille Rouge slope when she collided with the 35-year-old man, who was stationary at the time and suffered a broken leg, according to French news outlet Le Dauphine.
The man was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Investigations into the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash are ongoing, with officers yet to determine the exact cause of the woman's death.
Both victims were reportedly wearing helmets while navigating the challenging mountain. Black slopes, designed for expert skiers, are considered the most difficult due to their steep and challenging drops.
