Lewis Capaldi (born 7 October 1996) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the 2019 Brit Awards. In March 2019, his single "Someone You Loved" topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 17 May 2019 he released his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks.

Lewis Capaldi has divided fans after his appearance at The Brit Awards was muted as it was littered with profanities.The 24 year old Scottish singer-songwriter took to the stage at the glittering music awards ceremony at the O2 Arena on Tuesday 11 May to present the award for Best Album.

After he made his way onto the stage he told the roaring audience to “shut up” before greeting them with: “Hello mother f**kers!” Lewis went on: “Listen guys… I’m f**king sweating, my b… it’s like a swamp down there I’m telling you – sweaty b****ks.
