Bridgerton villain is completely unrecognisable in new BBC detective drama

Bridgerton fans may have to double-take as one villain from the show has landed a new role on a BBC drama, but is completely unrecognisable.

Episode 2 of BBC comedy-drama Ludwig, which airs on Wednesday, will see Jamie Beamish, who played Bridgerton villain Nigel Berbrooke - take on a guest-role as Ben Naylor, and he looks and sounds completely different.

In the Netflix show, set between 1813 and 1827, Jamie can be seen clean shaven with a curly quiff and iconic sideburns. His character, Nigel, took an interest to Daphne, even trying to blackmail her into marry him.

Nigel has been described by fans as ‘the one we love to hate’. Aside from the difference in his looks, Jamie can be heard speaking in his Irish accent during BBC's Ludwig, as opposed to an English accent in Bridgerton.The actor was born in Waterford, Ireland, and is also known for his role in Irish sitcom Derry Girls.
