Golda Rosheuvel has won over a legion of fans for her portrayal as Queen Charlotte in both Bridgerton and the new prequel show, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.The star, 53, had a long career before being cast in the smash hit Netflix series, which has several of its' sets available to rent to fans, and has appeared in a number of other shows, including Luther, Silent Witness and EastEnders.
She’s also an acclaimed stage actress and has scored roles in long-running West End shows such as The Lion King, which she starred in between 2009 and 2011, The Tempest and The Colour Purple.The actress has also been a longtime advocate for diversity in the entertainment industry, and is the patron of charity Acting For a Change, which works to promote inclusion in the business.
She has hailed the Bridgerton series for its’ commitment to this, and said in a recent interview: “It’s important to see yourself represented.
It’s important to see people who look like you and who come from the same background as you.” “It's important to see yourself reflected in the world around you.” Off-screen, the star has been married to British playwright Shireen Mula for more than ten years.
