The 31-year-old actor reportedly said he is 'flattered' to be seen as a contender, but shrugged it off by suggesting that any actor in the spotlight gets linked to the role.
Rege rose to super stardom as the dashing Duke of Hastings in Netflix’s raunchy period drama, which premiered in December. He has been made favourite with some bookmakers to take over as 007 when Daniel Craig steps down after No Time To Die is released in October.
