One of Brianna Ghey's killers has lodged an appeal against his life sentence, the M.E.N. can reveal. Eddie Ratcliffe was jailed for life, to serve a minimum of 20 years, after unanimously being convicted of the 16-year-old's murder.
Ratcliffe was found guilty alongside his friend Scarlett Jenkinson. The pair, both 16, had plotted Brianna's murder for weeks.
The duo had a warped interest in death and torture, and had been plotting to kill other children. Brianna, a transgender girl, was lured to her death at Culcheth Linear Park near Warrington on February 11 last year. Last month Jenkinson and Ratcliffe were both sentenced for the brutal crime. They were both detained at His Majesty's Pleasure, the equivalent of a life sentence for a youth.
