Seth asked him why he was drawn to this role.'When I read it I was like I could be friends with this guy,' Brendan said. 'I identified in many ways about him as a father and had him wanting to reach out to young people to get them to be honest about who they are and I also felt that there was a real story to be told about someone who is locked behind closed doors.' He said the movie was also directed by Aronofsky.
