Paramedics and police were called to a house on Lake Road in Stalybridge at around 3.40am this morning (Wednesday). They found a woman - aged in her 40s - who had been stabbed several times.
She was taken to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. A man in his 40s was later arrested in the Dukinfield area on suspicion of murder.
