A person has been rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' following a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry. Emergency services raced to the A34 Kingsway at around 6.15am on Wednesday morning (February 26), where a patient was treated at the scene.

They have been rushed to hospital, ambulance services confirmed. There was a heavy emergency service presence on Kingsway this morning, with police, paramedics, and fire crews attending.

The road remains closed in the northbound direction with police on the scene. Heavy traffic has been reported on surrounding roads as drivers divert around the accident.

A spokesperson for NWAS said: "We were called at 6.15 this morning to reports of an incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. "We sent a number of resources to the scene, including a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and a several senior clinicians.
