The 30 year-old pedestrian was involved in a collision with a grey BMW 320i M Sport on Rochdale Road just after 7.30pm on Thursday, December 24.Emergency services raced to the scene he was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.
However Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have this morning confirmed that he later died of his injuries. His family are being supported by specialist officers.A man in his thirties was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.He has since been released under investigation.The investigation into the crash is ongoing GMP said.And they are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have footage.
