Sex abuse victims who were denied compensation under a now-scrapped loophole are still waiting for their cash. The “same roof” rule, barring victims of violent crimes before 1979 from payouts if they lived with their attacker at the time, was abolished last summer.
But Ursula Martin, 56, who was raped by her brother when she was 11 and could now get up to £27,000, has not received a penny.
She says requests for help to her local Tory MP, Ian Liddell-Grainger in Bridgwater, Somerset, have been ignored. And her complaint to the Government’s chief whip about the MP has also fallen on deaf ears, she says.
