Bradford fire: Firefighters tackle school blaze as flames pour from roof

A huge fire has broken out at a school with thick smoke and flames seen from miles around the building in Bradford. Dramatic photographs show the bright orange flames and plumes of smoke pouring from the roof.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have rushed to the scene in Thornton View Road, in the Clayton area. The school is believed to be an Islamic Girls School, according to reports.

Bradford Council has tweeted: “@WYFRS are dealing with a fire within one of the buildings at a school on Thornton View Road BD14. "Take care if you are in the area and allow space for the crews to access the area." Yorkshire Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team are currently at the scene.
