A young boy was saved from a run-down house of horrors after his mum confessed to a health worker that she believed he was being sexually abused by her husband.
The seven-year-old, identified only as 'K' in court papers, was living with his mum and step-dad in Warrington after moving to the UK from a country in Africa, according to the Liverpool Echo.
It was later revealed that the mum had suspected the sexual assault for roughly two weeks, telling police she had planned to "hide in a cupboard" discretely film her partner carrying out the abuse.
An application by Warrington Borough Council was recently accepted by the Family Court, sitting at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, for the British courts to have jurisdiction of the case.L
