The body of a 13-year-old boy has been discovered in the River Taff in Cardiff, police say. Firefighters, police and paramedics were seen attending the areas of Whitchurch and Llandaff North in Cardiff yesterday afternoon (June 21) with social media also reporting heavy emergency services presence on Ty-Mwr Road and Heol Don.
A National Police Air Sercive helicopter was also spotted searching the area. One local wrote on social media shortly after 5pm that they had spotted 25 emergency vehicles parked by the water wheel in Whitchurch.
Meanwhile, a photographer from Wales Online confirmed that emergency services had cleared the Whitchurch area shortly after 8pm. Detective Inspector Abi Biddle, from South Wales Police, said: “At 4.45pm today (Tuesday, June 21), a report was received of children in the River Taff near Forest Farm Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff and one boy was missing.
