Boy, 12, charged with carrying a weapon at Reddish Vale High School

A 12-year-old boy will appear in youth court following an alleged incident at Reddish Vale High School. Officers were called out to the scene shortly after 3pm on Monday (February 10).

In a statement issued this morning (Tuesday), Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the boy - who cannot be named for legal reasons - has been charged in connection with the incident.

He has been remanded into custody before an appearance at youth court. The boy has been charged with attempted assault, possession of a bladed article, threatening a person with an offensive weapon, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Youth Court today. Police are moving to reassure members of the community in Reddish.
