Boxer DeAndre Ware performs life-saving CPR on man who collapsed ahead of fight

Boxer DeAndre Ware is already a winner ahead of his fight on Saturday after he saved a man's life as he was receiving his medical checks.

Ware is due to fight Steve Nelson in a super-middleweight clash on Top Rank's televised show in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

But he was pressed in action much sooner he thought when Pete Susens, one of Top Rank's show co-ordinators collapsed at the MGM Grand.

Ware was quick to react with skills learned in his job as a firefighter, performing CPR on Mr Susens and reviving him. “I’m here for my fight but I had to put EMS skills to work and do some CPR,” tweeted Ware (13-2-2, 8KOs). "Happy to say the guy was talking a bit and was alert headed to the hospital.
