bomb was blown up in a controlled explosion on a Scots beach after a terrified local raised the alarm.The casing of the explosive, understood to be from the Second World War, was found at Ballantrae Harbour in South Ayrshire.Local coastguard teams were alerted to the find and the police and disposal experts called to deal with the ordinance.A massive 330 foot cordon was put up around the area as the experts rigged the casing for destruction.Video footage posted by the coastguard team shows the explosion, with the piece of bomb sent high into the sky amid a flurry of sand.A statement from Ballantrae Coatguard yesterday read: "Team was tasked at 11am today to ordnance at Ballantrae Harbour.
