Wanderers manager Ian Evatt shuffled his squad around and made a total of eight changes for the Carabao Cup second round tie against the Latics, with the likes of MJ Williams and Lloyd Isgrove omitted from the matchday squad.

The Trotters went out of the competition after losing a penalty shootout following a goalless draw.
