A body has been found in a North London river after a man allegedly entered the water during a police chase. The tragic discovery was made in the River Lea in Tottenham shortly before 10am today, the Met said in a statement.
Police said two men fled after being stopped by officers from the Central East robbery task force at around 9.15pm last night.
They were pursued by officers on bikes. One of them was later found in the water and detained, the Met said, but the second man could not be found, prompting a specialist search, the Met stated.
