'Bobby Brazier's dance to mum Jade was triggering - my daughter was my motivation for surviving cancer,' says Sky Sports' Jo Wilson

Like millions of other Strictly Come Dancing fans, Sky Sports presenter Jo Wilson watched with tears in her eyes, as Bobby Brazier paid tribute to his late mum Jade Goody on the BBC show.

Back in November, Bobby, 20, dedicated his dance routine to Jade, who died of cervical cancer in 2009 aged just 27, and spoke of his loss.

For Jo, it was particularly triggering after receiving her own cervical cancer diagnosis in July 2022. The 39-year, who was told she had stage 3 cervical cancer, is now approaching the first anniversary of being cancer-free.

She told OK!: “It was emotional, regardless of whether you’ve had cancer. Bobby’s a lovely lad. I don’t even have the words for what that little boy went through." Jo, who is mum to three-year-old daughter Mabel, added: "So yes, I hugged Mabel tightly that night and it did feel triggering.
