Bob Mortimer fears coronavirus pandemic will cut his life short by two years

Bob Mortimer admits he’s gorged on so much food and booze in lockdown that he could have shortened his life. The comic had a triple heart bypass in 2015 after finding that 95% of his arteries were blocked.

Bob, 61, said: “While I have been in lockdown I’ve done no exercise, I’ve eaten so much and drunk so much booze. “Lockdown has probably taken two years off of my life.” And his festive plans don’t sound much better, as he said: “It’ll be a normal Christmas – which is boozing, then eating, then boozing, then eating.” His TV sidekick Paul Whitehouse says, despite Mortimer’s lapse, making the series means they now take their roles seriously as champions of health for men-of-a-certain-age. “It’s made us be a bit more socially responsible
