BMW driver admits driving dangerously but denies causing serious injury after crashing into 92-year-old woman's home

A BMW driver has admitted driving dangerously and damaging property after his car smashed into a pensioner's home. Michael Vose, 39, pleaded guilty to dangerously driving the BMW X6 that damaged Edna Kerns' home in White Horse Grove, Westhoughton, on November 28 2021.

But Vose, of Mount Pleasant Avenue, St Helens, denied causing serious injury to Ms Kerns in the incident, during a hearing at Bolton Crown Court. Defending Vose, Nicola Gatto said that the full extent of Ms Kerns' injuries are yet to be established. Judge Tom Gilbart adjourned the case until March 14 and remanded Vose in custody.

Addressing the defendant, who appeared on a video link from Forest Bank Prison, Judge Gilbart said: "You are going to be sentenced for those offences which you have admitted but the sentence will be adjourned until the court knows the full extent to of the offences for which you are to be sentenced."
