Blumhouse And Platinum Dunes Reunite On Thriller ‘Drop’ Starring ‘White Lotus’ Breakout Meghann Fahy; Christopher Landon Directing
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: After launching The Purge franchise, Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes are teaming on a new thriller Drop and have set Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon to helm and Meghann Fahy to star.
The film’s logline is being kept under wraps, but it’s said to be a fast-paced thriller. Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach penned the script, with Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes — producing.
Sam Lerner is an executive producer. The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal. The partnership between the two production companies has delivered huge results from its Purge franchise that includes five films with the sixth on the way as well as a TV series.
Drop marks a reunion for Landon and Blumhouse, who worked together on the 2020 horror comedy Freaky starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton.
