Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction

Reflecting on the close call, Mikey, who was a runner-up on Big Brother in 2008, expressed his gratitude and said: "It was a miracle I was not killed." The 48 year old, who navigates independently using a white stick due to his blindness, had intended to travel to Partick station on Monday but disembarked at the wrong stop.
After exiting the train, he searched for a familiar wall with his stick, but it wasn't there, leading to his fall onto the track.
Mikey explained that he was disoriented by a misheard announcement over the Tannoy, compounded by wearing ear defenders, reports the Daily Record.
