Blaze breaks out on Ben Lomond as huge clouds of smoke billow into sky

Fire crews have been rushed to tackle a blaze on Ben Lomond Scots . One fire engine is currently in attendance on the west slope of the munro near Loch Lomond after being alerted around 2.15pm on Tuesday March 22.

Alarming footage shows the 974-metre high mountain engulfed in smoke as clouds billow into the sky.It is currently unknown if there are any injuries as a result of the blaze.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed that they are in attendance. A spokesperson said: "SFRS were called to a fire on the west slope of Ben Lomond at 2.15pm on Tuesday, March 22."One fire appliance is currently in attendance at this moment."
