Beloved Coronation Street actor Mark Eden has passed away at the age of 92 following a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Tributes have poured in for the iconic Cobbles actor following his passing on New Year's Day.
But the heartfelt salutes to the famed soap star are not the first to paid to the Eden. He was best known for playing Alan Bradley in the ITV soap in the 1980s and quickly became a household name.
His time on the show came to an end in December 1989 when Alan was famously killed off in a Blackpool tram crash. In 2009, the town of Blackpool paid tribute to Mark, honouring him with a plaque at the tram stop where the scene was filmed as many soap fans would ask about it.
