Jack Vale wants to prove that Stuart Kettlewell made the right call to bring him back to Motherwell, while kick-starting his career.Vale is aware that Motherwell were keen to extend his loan spell last season that saw him net three times for the Steelmen, but wanted to make a go of it at Blackburn Rovers.When it was clear that he wasn’t going to get game-time at Ewood Park, Vale picked up the phone to Kettlewell and agreed to come back to Fir Park on a season-long loan.The 23-year-old striker climbed off the bench to replace Tawanda Maswanhise in 69 minutes of Saturday’s 2-1 win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, and admits it’s good to be back.He said: “I heard about Motherwell since I left, really.
I knew they wanted to try and get me back.“I was happy to come back, but I think the plan was to try at Blackburn Rovers first.“I knew if I wasn’t going to get game-time this season, then I wanted to go on loan again, and for me this was the right place to do it.“I’m happy they’ve taken me back, and I just want to hit the ground running, now.“Stuart Kettlewell was in contact but it wasn’t constant.“In the last couple of weeks he’s been texting and phoning me and I think we have a good relationship, so I was fine to answer his calls and that, and I was honest with him, as he’s always honest with me.“I wanted to work with him again, so I’m happy I’ve come back.“You saw it with Theo Bair last season and he has gone on to do good things, so I know he can develop players so I’m happy to join him again.“I want to keep developing this season and get better.”Vale was delighted with the last-gasp win in Perth on Saturday, with Moses Ebiye heading in a winner late in stoppage time, after Benji Kimpioka had cancelled out Dan Casey’s
